Does Hinduism believe in Karma

It is Hinduism that gave philosophy of karma to mankind. To explain precept of spirituality in depth understanding doctrine of karma is necessitated. In absence of law of karma evolution in cosmic life simply could not sustain and the whole cosmos would just decay and die a natural death.

For life to evolve in cosmic system, the complex precept of karma is necessitated. It is karma that makes life go round and round in entire cosmos especially mother earth. For souls’ atmans to continuously evolve the inherent ingredient of karma is necessitated.

In simpler words karma does not equate to physical work alone. As per Jainism doctrine of Bhava karma even a single thought precipitates into an act of karma.

Life proceeds ahead in cosmos based on unpredictable laws of karma. As we behaved, as we indulged accordingly manifest our destiny. As we sow so shall we reap says law of karma.

If one is born in the house of a king, all precipitated from karma indulged by the previous form in last manifestation. The residual balance of karma at the time of death decides our next journey of life whether we shall be born in the house of a laborer or a king.

To manifest good life ahead it is imperative that human beings all the time indulged in good karma, positive karma to become absolute master and controller of their life. The control of destiny or life never lay in hands of God Almighty. Our karma of present and past was squarely responsible for our present, future and destiny.

For human beings seekers in search of god, negating karma to zero is necessitated. This simply means as a soul atman we have to remove dross impurities within to zero. This results in a soul atman reaching state of absolute purity forever. This is the state when humanity termed one an enlightened one, a bodhi… a Jina forever.

As long as single trace of dross impurities remained within a soul atman, it will continue manifesting form after another. This manifest physical form must indulge in karma to eradicate self of dross impurities within. This becomes possible when human beings indulging in spirituality as detailed in Bhagavad Gita finally succeed becoming a pure soul atman.

Path of spirituality to eradicate karma to zero is only detailed in Hinduism scriptures like Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads (independent spiritual treatises). No other scripture of any religion could lead mankind towards state of enlightenment ever. Enlightenment, state of self realization can be reached only by indulgence in scriptures like Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads.

To establish total control over five senses and mind, our travelling path of jnana yoga (absolute wisdom) is necessitated. How path of jnana yoga is covered is detailed in Bhagavad Gita. In present Kali yoga (Dark Age) dross impurities within cannot be eradicated to zero by indulging in bhakti yoga or karma yoga alone. To remove darkness of ignorance from within path of jnana yoga is an absolute must.

Understanding law of karma is not difficult if our goal of life is spiritual. Only those with a bloated ego failed to realize what karma was all about. Even religious practitioners (those indulging in rituals) also failed to realize the importance of indulging in karma the right way. If we desire lessening our sufferings our indulging in good karma, positive karma most of time is the mantra.

When young about 8 to 9 years of age I was deeply perplexed about doctrine of karma. But finally after a gap of about seven years I understood the inherent meaning of karma. Just to understand the meaning of karma I indulged in contemplation (chintan) for about seven years. Understanding precepts in field of spirituality take time. To understand the difference between dharma, religion and spirituality I took above nine years.
