Initiation into Hinduism was never necessitated. The most sacred text on mother earth Bhagavad Gita despises such practices. Even prayers offered to Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva are abhorred by Bhagavad Gita. Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita bluntly says to offer all prayers and worship directly to Brahman (God Almighty) and not his attributes like Brahma, Vishnu or Shiva.
For reaching God in present life time our following precepts of spirituality contained in Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads is necessitated. The doors to God are open for one and all. To admit or not to admit, to initiate or not to initiate is never the prerogative of a priest, pundit in Hinduism. People from world over without initiating into Hinduism could indulge in teachings of Bhagavad Gita to reach God in their lifetime.
When God has kept his doors open for all, it is not for pundits to set up a boundary. Initiation of any kind in Hinduism is never necessitated. One can indulge in any scriptural texts without initiation. It is a well accepted fact that following path of religion (rituals) man ever reached god. Brahman (God Almighty) can be realized only by indulging in spiritual precepts contained in Gita.
Hinduism religion also called a way of life from the very beginning is broad based. Anyone world over could indulge in teachings of Hinduism scriptures. Precepts of spirituality contained in Bhagavad Gita do not warrant a spiritual master, guru. The reason is apparent, spiritual journey is covered indulging in contemplation (chintan) where a guru would be of little help.
Contemplation (chintan) is always conducted in isolation. It is best for a spiritual traveler to become an introvert of the highest order. The inward journey into the unknown is precipitous, takes its own time. Taking all precautions beforehand we must indulge in spirituality as we just could not quit midway. Once our kundalini starts activating, we just could not revert back.
I started my search of God six years of age. No matter how best I tried as a child I could not get a preceptor to guide me in the spiritual journey of life. Exasperated one day I asked god to send me a messenger to guide me in the journey of life. He sent none. I kept repeating my prayers to no avail. Slowly I realized that I would not get a spiritual guide as there was none.
I still wanted queries within me clarified all the time. The elders in the family and outside, teachers, the reverend principal all seemed blank. Finally one day I wanted to put a full stop to my longings. I restlessly prayed to God for a guide in the journey of life. When nothing seemed forthcoming, I asked god whether he was prepared to become my guide in my search for god and Lo, he willingly agreed and said yes. Thereafter it was never looking back.
In the last about 150 years amongst 7 billion people existing world over only Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana finally succeeded in reaching God in their lifetime. Under these circumstances how can we expect the sundry to get a preceptor to guide them in the journey of life? Even if we get one, what was the surety that we would be accepted as a pupil? When Eklavya requested guru Dronacharya to become his pupil, he bluntly refused because of his low caste. The onus of acceptance of a pupil is on the teacher that was how things existed in field of pure spirituality. The main reason being student should be competent to indulge in contemplation (chintan) most of time.
Any seeker world over interested in indulging in spirituality contained in Hinduism scriptures must never worry about initiation in Hinduism. We must also not be affected by what so-called knowledgeable pundits and also masses would say. Taking refuge of scriptures we could directly indulge in teachings contained in scriptures. If we had queries we could always consult Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa or Maharishi Ramana. The clues for travelling spiritual path successfully lay in abundance in literature relating to Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharshi Ramana that was available in abundance in India and abroad.
Despite efforts when I did not get a spiritual master to guide me in the spiritual journey of life, I used to call a roundtable conference consisting of Lord Krishna, Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed even Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana and on some occasions Adi Shankaracharya. Lying in shavasna pose of yoga while going to bed in night in subconscious state I conducted this meeting.
In the morning when I got up all my queries within posed to these enlightened ones had dissolved forever. The next day a new set of queries, the same roundtable conference and again the queries dissolved overnight. For years this system worked for me perfectly well. I finally reached a stage when not a single query remained within me.
