Bhagavad Gita is a spiritual treatise meant to uplift mankind to levels of enlightened ones like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha even Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed. How could a spiritual compendium have any limitations, it can be indulged anywhere and at any stage of life.
I indulged in Bhagavad Gita even while walking, jogging, swimming, studying, indulging in sports and while conducting business. We indulged in Bhagavad Gita not literally but through path of contemplation (chintan). Nothing in Bhagavad Gita can be understood literally.
When I was about 6 1/2 years of age I mastered delicate art of contemplation. Nothing I did in present life could have resulted in this; it surely must have flowed from previous manifestation! From the beginning of life I believed in God 100%, in the world of souls’ atmans and also doctrine of reincarnation, rebirth. I also followed truthfulness to the extent of 100%.
My main goal of life from nine years of age was reaching God in present life time. Something around nine years of age disturbed me a lot. I was deadly scared of death. I discussed this with parents and other elders in the family but none had any advice.
After contemplation I realized I could free myself of the bondage of death by indulging in spirituality detailed in Bhagavad Gita. I there and then decided to liberate self from endless rotation in the cycles of birth and death. And thus started my spiritual pursuit of life!
I did not directly indulge in Bhagavad Gita ever, not even once. I did not read through Bhagavad Gita even once until reaching state of self realization, god realization. Remaining truthful all the time I could easily hear sweet small promptings of Lord Krishna coming from within my heart. Allegorically Lord Krishna is the spirit, soul atman existing in our heart.
Guided by Lord Krishna all the time from six years of age I finally reached portals of God Almighty 37 years of age. In the wee hours of third of August 1993 I finally realized self, realized god.
Summarizing it all, as we cannot read Bhagavad Gita literally we must master art of contemplation early in age. Only then we can indulge in spirituality detailed in Bhagavad Gita to reach God in our lifetime. Even if we read through Bhagavad Gita several times nothing becomes clear.
After reaching the stage of self realization, god realization I realized that everything contained in Bhagavad Gita had become like ABCD to me, it was as if I had dictated contents of sacred Bhagavad Gita in one of my previous manifestations.
