The word devotee cannot be used for an avatar. One can only become a true follower of Kalki avatar, his truthful principles of life. In fact there is no point becoming a devotee of any self realized soul. Reason being as per Bhagavad Gita every single human being on mother earth had to one-day realize self, realize god. All human beings were in the same line of evolution.
Every single human being on mother earth one day would either become a Mahavira, Gautama Buddha even Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed. Becoming a Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa or Maharshi Ramana is our ultimate goal of life.
In present life we may pray to some, seek blessings of some but ultimately our goal always remains, reaching state of self realization, god realization. Indulging in spirituality detailed in Bhagavad Gita we can do it now in present life time or leave it for future manifestations by our soul atman, the spirit within.
No human being can ever escape indulging in spirituality as this is the ultimate goal of life of our true inner self the spirit, soul atman existing in heart. As per Lord Krishna we are primarily a spiritual traveler, a spirit that manifested human form to work out its karma, remove dross impurities within. Our soul atman is the actual master and controller of human body.
Dominated by ego we failed to realize our true inner self. The moment indulging in spirituality we demolished our ego in totality, our true inner self from within took over and in no time we would reach state of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa or Maharshi Ramana.
As per my personal experience in my 55 years of spiritual travail I have not come across even a single person who thought one could become a Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa or Maharshi Ramana. This is the biggest anomaly of mankind, an absolute misnomer.
Unless we believed in the fact that we could become a Mahavira, Gautama Buddha even Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed… we would never become one. Before becoming a Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa or Maharshi Ramana we had to believe we can become one.
Swami Vivekananda was one such individual who firmly believed that he could reach state of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa by realizing self, realizing god in his lifetime. As the present goal of life for Swami Vivekananda was different, he left self realization, god realization for next life. All his life Swami Vivekananda indulged in community service to its level best.
My final submission is that instead of going to temples, churches and mosques and offering devotional service, one must indulge in becoming a true spiritual person as detailed in Bhagavad Gita. Only then we can realize our true inner self, become a pure soul atman forever.
We would be doing a great service to Kalki avatar by becoming a true follower of his. This way we can directly indulge with Kalki avatar in day-to-day activities of life. Becoming a devotee we neither helped self nor the Kalki avatar.
