In every single religion of world there were two paths to follow, religious or spiritual or both. Same is the case with Hinduism; one could either indulge in religious practices (rituals) or keep confined to spirituality, the ultimate truths of life following which human beings gained enlightenment.
Definitely practicing spirituality is the best way out. Who would not desire liberating self from cycle of birth and death forever! Emancipating from cycle of birth and death and finally reaching state of self realization, god realization is the ultimate goal of life for human beings on mother earth. But how many people indulged in spirituality that way?
Life in cosmic domain was not based on rhetoric! If we talked to a religious person one would never say about being disinterested in god. A traveler of religious path was deadly prone to reasoning, believed more in rituals than absolute reality. In the entire history of mankind none world over reached God indulging in religious practices, rituals!
All man gods like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed indulged in pure spirituality contained in Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads (independent spiritual treatises) to reach the cosmic end of life, 8.4 millionth manifestation state of enlightenment.
Practitioners of religion believed in hordes of gods and goddesses. There was never a limit to the number of gods in Hinduism that totalled 330 million. On the contrary travelers of spiritual path believed in one and only God, Brahman, the creator of entire cosmos.
In absolute reality God is only one, paths to reaching God can be many. It is only indulging in spirituality one realizes the concept of one God. Unable to conceptualize theory of one God, religious practitioners prayed to, worshipped many gods and goddesses.
It is true none in this world could define god, god can only be realized, conceptualized when one reaches state of enlightenment, never before.
