Bhagavad Gita that primarily relates to Hinduism is much more than Christian Bible. The teachings contained in Bible emanated from Jesus Christ, an enlightened one. In the west in the entire history of mankind only two spiritual stalwarts succeeded in reaching state of enlightenment Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed.
Comparatively in India (erstwhile Bharatvarsha) hundreds succeeded in reaching state of enlightenment. Best part of Hinduism is, every single enlightened one did not start ones own theory followed by religion. Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa could have done that but did not and so is the case with Maharshi Ramana, the two spiritual stalwarts who in the last 150 years amongst 7 billion people existing world over succeeded in reaching state of enlightenment, self realization.
It is an absolutely undeniable fact that Jesus Christ owed his entire wisdom to teachings of Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads (independent spiritual treatises) during his sojourn to India during his missing years (age 14 to 29). During that period Jesus Christ indulged himself critically in wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads in Taxila and Nalanda universities. In present times ruins of Taxila University lay in Pakistan and that of Nalanda in Bihar state of India.
The finest citadel of learning, the old Nalanda University had no parallel in mankind.
Bhagavad Gita is the only scripture available in world that shows mankind a straight path to god. All the 700 shlokas verses were full of pure wisdom that detailed various aspects of spirituality.
Foremost of all, Lord Krishna who gave sermon of Bhagavad Gita allegorically is the soul atman existing in all human beings. By demolishing our ego in totality, practicing 100% truthfulness human beings can hear dictates of Lord Krishna coming from within. Guided by voice of Lord Krishna from within from six years of age I finally crossed ocean of Samsara (worldly life) to reach God in the wee hours of third of August 1993 at 37 years of age.
I can vouch with double confidence that nothing in this world even paralleled teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita.
