Is Bhagavad Gita a religious book

Bhagavad Gita is not a religious but a spiritual book. Bhagavad Gita encompasses everything needed to cover spiritual journey satisfactorily. Indulging in 700 shlokas verses contained in Bhagavad Gita any human being world over can easily reach state of enlightenment.

We only need to follow precepts of spirituality as detailed in Bhagavad Gita.

In present times, indulgence in religious practices, going to temples churches or mosques none could reach god. One can reach God only via spirituality detailed in Bhagavad Gita.

Understanding difference between religion and spirituality is the foremost requirement of spiritual path. Those indulging in religion keep rotating in endless cycles of birth and death again and again. While those practicing spirituality as in Bhagavad Gita can hope to reach God in their lifetime! One single scripture Bhagavad Gita suffices in present times to reach god.

Bhagavad Gita, part of Hindu scriptures contains everything worth knowable on path of spirituality. Follower of Bhagavad Gita not only reaches state of enlightenment but also moksha salvation.

Religion in present times carried no merit. Even though spirituality is branch of religion but totally distinct from it! It is indulging in spirituality we realize we are primarily a spiritual traveler, a spirit that manifest human form to work out its karma, remove dross impurities within.

Once the precept of spirituality is clear it is not very difficult to indulge in spirituality to reach god. Rituals, an integral part of religious life simply carried no meaning in present times. We have to take path of jnana yoga (absolute wisdom) to reach God in our lifetime.

Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa initially started in search of God via path of religion (rituals) but finally switched to path of jnana yoga to successfully reach God in his lifetime.
