Can I recite Bhagavad Gita 30 minutes in morning and evening

Ritual recitation of Bhagavad Gita many times every single day does not serve any purpose. We do not progress even an inch. It is not bland recitation that helps but indulgence in contemplation (chintan) that paves way for our understanding of Bhagavad Gita in totality.

Indulgence in Yajña s and recitation of shlokas verses did not yield any result in present Kali Yuga. Spirituality is all about inner journey towards the spirit existing in our heart as soul atman, and to successfully cover this journey our contemplation on vital issues of life covered in sacred texts of different religions of world is necessitated.

By contemplating we reached the hidden underlying meaning of sacred texts. There is no other method to understand gist of sacred texts of Hinduism. Nothing in Bhagavad Gita or Upanishads becomes clear literally. We have to dive deep into the bottomless pit of wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita via path of jnana yoga (absolute wisdom).

If we are serious about indulging in Bhagavad Gita, we must master the delicate art of contemplation at the earliest. By grace of God I mastered the art of contemplation six years of age. I could easily interact with Lord Krishna when 6 1/2 years of age. Allegorically Lord Krishna is spirit, consciousness existing in our heart as soul atman.

We must indulge in Bhagavad Gita if our ultimate goal of life is spirituality, reaching god. I know many who started their indulgence in spirituality only to quit midway and in the process became serious patients of depression. Ritual chanting of Bhagavad Gita really is worthless.

Just by simple recitation we can never understand the meaning of sacred text in Bhagavad Gita.
