To gain self realization, reaching state of moksha salvation Hinduism scriptures advocate undertaking spiritual journey so that one could realize the hidden inner meanings of sacred texts like Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads (independent spiritual treatises)! Self realization, state of moksha can never be achieved indulging in religious practices (rituals).
