How to find a Master who can help me Realize Self

A master, who can help me realize self is a statement that would never be fulfilled. One who desires self realization is not the right candidate to indulge in spirituality. Spirituality, self realization is not for those who think of individual self and not the benefit of entire mankind.

Self realization has been granted by God only to those who all the time worked for welfare of entire mankind. The list consists of Mahavira, Gautama Buddha even Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed. Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharshi Ramana also fall in this category.

None of these self realized souls ever worked for individual self. They only wanted liberation from cycle of birth and death and in return they tirelessly worked for welfare of entire mankind. The state of self realization always comes as a byproduct of our services to entire mankind. It is always endowed by God Almighty only on those people who had no self-interest of any kind.

Self realization is not easily achieved. Swami Vivekananda in his lifetime did not reach stage of self realization for he never wanted to. The goal of life for Swami Vivekananda always was community service. Had he desired he could have easily reached state of self realization under able preceptorship of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa but he politely refused!

The last self realized soul that manifest on mother earth was Maharshi Ramana, who left his mortal frame in 1950. The next to come in this series is Kalki avatar himself. Even before a decade mankind would witness advent of Kalki avatar, a one-man crusader of truth who shall finally succeed re-establishing Dharma (righteousness).

The most important aspect of spirituality is, none world over not even an enlightened one, a self realized soul can teach anybody anything about self realization or spirituality. The most a spiritual master could deliver was sought out queries of serious seekers. The journey of spirituality toward self realization is always covered all alone indulging in contemplation (chintan) all the time.

Instead of searching for a spiritual master we must first master art of contemplation and then indulge in literature relating to Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharshi Ramana. Even though these two spiritual stalwarts do not physically exist anymore, but as per me they all the time existed in the vast paraphernalia of literature relating to them.

In my pursuit of God I almost duplicated path taken by Maharshi Ramana. Lying in shavasna pose of yoga when going to bed in the night I always indulged in self enquiry, Neti (not this, not this) to demolish, dissolve queries within.
