Define Spirituality vs Materialism

As far as human beings are concerned there were two aspects to life, the materialistic or the spiritual approach! We can choose follow one that suits our appetite, our inherent thinking. Neither in materialistic or spiritual world should anything be enforced on an individual by parents or elders in the family. Following anything forcibly never bore desired results.

It is always in the interest of an individual to choose one’s goal in life. This becomes possible when we followed dictates of spirit, consciousness the voice of a soul atman coming from within our heart. The voice coming from within is voice of Lord Krishna. Allegorically Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita is none other than the spirit, consciousness… our soul atman existing in heart.

Spirituality is the path that leads human beings towards God Almighty. One who successfully crosses ocean of Samsara (worldly life) at the end of spiritual journey finally merges with god, becomes one with God similar as all rivers finally merged in the ocean. The difference being rivers lost their identity after mixing with ocean or a sea but in the spiritual realm even after merging with god, the individual identity of the soul atman remains.

Spirituality is all about indulging in teachings of Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita. Spirituality is demolishing our ego in totality. Spirituality demands overpowering five senses and mind. Indulging in kundalini awakening, the coiled Serpentine energy lying dormant in base of spine to activate our brain fully is practicing spirituality. Normal human beings used their brain 1 to 2% but enlightened ones like Mahavira; Gautama Buddha even Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed used their brain 100%.

Materialism is leading worldly life whereas spirituality is an inner journey towards our soul atman.

Indulging in materialism human beings keep rotating in endless cycles of birth and death again and again. Whether we become Bill Gates or Warren Buffett, even JRD Tata we shall keep rotating in endless cycles of birth and death again and again. But a spiritual traveler who does not want to continue rotating in endless cycles of birth and death indulges in spirituality to the extent that one finally reaches cosmic end of life, becomes a pure soul atman forever.

Having reached state of absolute purity, the need for spirit, consciousness within to manifest a human form any further now ceases to exist. The liberated soul atman, spirit consciousness the moment an enlightened one left mortal frame reaches state of moksha salvation and finally merges with God, goes to kingdom of God (Vaikuntha in Hinduism).
