From the date Arjuna started indulgence in spirituality until the start of Mahabharata, is the time period Arjuna took to assimilate teachings of Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita.
Allegorically Lord Krishna is no different than the spirit, soul atman existing in our heart. If we are truthful 100%, if we believed in God and his world of souls’ atmans 100% then we can indulge in spirituality successfully. The moment we succeed demolishing our ego in totality, promptings of Lord Krishna from within our heart become distinctly clear.
Guided by voice of Lord Krishna from within, Arjuna finally cleared his spiritual journey at the start of Mahabharata. Arjuna was a spiritual traveler of the highest order. When facing dilemma of fighting his close cousins, relatives and friends Arjuna became seriously depressed. He wanted to quit the war and expressed cowardice.
In those compelling moments, contemplating on most vital issues of life whether or not to fight his close cousins, relatives and friends Arjuna automatically reached state of enlightenment. And in those moments he realized that he was only a party to the whole show, a spiritual traveler manifesting human form. The moment Arjuna realized his true identity as a soul atman he prepared himself to fight the enemy head-on.
The fear of death, the fear of killing ones own relatives and friends immediately vanished forever. Arjuna had now become a pure soul atman in the cosmic journey of life.
