I want to read Bhagavad Gita from where should I start

Before wanting to read Bhagavad Gita master art of contemplation (chintan) as it is only through chintan (contemplation) one can reach the hidden underlying meanings of sacred texts contained in Bhagavad Gita. No wonder how many times one reads Bhagavad Gita, one can ever understand anything whatsoever. Almost every single person who reads Bhagavad Gita says so.

Once we master the art of contemplation, the overall gist of Bhagavad Gita becomes clear. We start realizing that we are primarily a spiritual traveler, a cosmic entity that manifested human form to cleanse self of dross impurities within. The human form is but a medium for soul atman within to work out its karma. All life forms on mother earth including human form had only one purpose, the soul atman within reaching state of absolute purity forever.

As a human being our indulgence in Bhagavad Gita becomes a reality when we start understanding the underlying meaning of sacred texts. We also realize that to travel spiritual path successfully our belief in God should be 100%. Our belief in world of souls’ atmans also should be 100%. We must be prepared to indulge in truthfulness 100%. Only then we can succeed demolishing ego to zero.

Demolition of ego to zero is necessitated as at any given moment of life only one can prevail, the voice of Lord Krishna coming from within our heart or the domination by ego. People indulging in material pursuits of life had a bloated ego and were totally disinclined to pursue path of spirituality. People like Swami Vivekananda who succeeded in demolishing their ego to zero were the right material for indulging in spirituality detailed in Bhagavad Gita.

Does this mean one needs becoming a Swami Vivekananda to pursue spirituality as detailed in Bhagavad Gita, yes spiritual facts say so.

The barest original copy of Bhagavad Gita containing 700 shlokas verses in Sanskrit along with Hindi and English transliteration was available for mere $1 from Gita press, Gorakhpur, India. Despite a very low cost, none world over seems interested. The reason being contents of Bhagavad Gita do not become clear just by literal reading!

In my 55 years of spiritual travail I have yet to find a person indulging in contemplation (chintan).

Furthermore once our indulgence in contemplation starts we must go to a Gita press store located in major cities of India. They have very authentic commentaries on Bhagavad Gita by renowned authors like Jayadayal Goyandka, Swami Ramsukhdas and Hanuman Prasad Poddar both in Hindi and English. Gita press also has an online bookstore.
