To reach state of moksha jnana wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita is necessitated. None can reach God; realize self, reach state of moksha salvation in absence of teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita.
With passage of time nothing in Bhagavad Gita diluted. The teachings of Bhagavad Gita are applicable as much today in modern times as was applicable above 3650 years before during times of Lord Krishna.
In present Kali Yuga demolition of ego in totality seems impossible but for spiritual practitioners possessing willpower exhibited by Swami Vivekananda all was possible.
If we can demolish our ego, we could distinctly hear promptings of Lord Krishna coming from within our heart. Allegorically Lord Krishna is soul atman existing in our heart. To hear voice of Lord Krishna from within we had to crush our ego in totality. At any given moment of life only one can dominate; either ego or voice of Lord Krishna from within.
From six years of age I exercised zero ego, still do not know how! I could distinctly hear voice of Lord Krishna coming from within. In the initial stages I was very apprehensive and scared as to who was trying to communicate with me all the time. When stories of Lord Krishna started doing rounds in my home, I felt at peace within. Still I could not understand anything at that young age but the experience was very pleasing, blissful and I continued with it.
Apart from demolition of ego we are also required to be 100% truthful which I was from the beginning of life. It is dictates of Lord Krishna coming from within that finally guided me in my spiritual sojourn and helped me reach state of self realization, god realization 37 years of age. Having become a pure soul atman, moment I leave my mortal frame I shall attain moksha salvation. That would end my endless rotation in the cycles of birth and death.
