What happens when a person reaches Moksha

It is wrong to say a person reaches moksha. What reaches state of moksha salvation is our soul atman, the spirit existing in heart. As per Bhagavad Gita the whole cosmic journey itself belonged to our soul atman and never the manifest physical human form.

A soul atman takes cosmic journey to cleanse self of dross impurities within. The human form is but a medium for soul atman to work out its karma. From beginning of the journey to end, effort of soul atman remains regaining its lost original pure prime pristine primordial form at the earliest.

Indulging in spirituality detailed in Bhagavad Gita when human beings finally succeed reaching state of enlightenment, it announces end of cosmic journey for soul atman within. After reaching state of enlightenment the moment enlightened one left mortal frame one gains moksha salvation.

Gaining moksha salvation means a liberated soul atman finally merging with God, Brahman in Hinduism. This merging with God has also been titled as entering abode of God, Vaikuntha in Hinduism. The liberated soul atman remains in kingdom of God, Vaikuntha until eternity.

In absence of dross impurities within, the pure soul atman need not manifest a human body again. A soul atman rotated in endless cycles of birth and death as long as it was impure, contained dross impurities within. Becoming a pure soul atman was its ultimate goal of life.
