As per Hindu scriptures primarily Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads (independent spiritual treatises) after death of human body, the released atman again manifests a new body to start new journey of life.
Only if matching parents are not available on mother earth, the atman hibernates in heaven or hell (swarga or naraka) both of which existed in sun, heaven in the core and hell in periphery of sun.
Sooner matching parents become available; the hibernating atman (in heaven or hell) immediately manifests a new body on mother earth and starts a new journey of life. This cycle of manifesting body after body continues until human beings reached state of enlightenment.
Human beings reaching state of enlightenment followed by moksha salvation announces permanent liberation from cycle of birth and death for atman within. Human being indulging in spirituality, proceeding towards state of enlightenment is the most pleasant experience for atman within.
Any human being world over wanting to gain release from endless cycles of birth and death has to indulge in spirituality detailed in Bhagavad Gita. Otherwise the atman keeps rotating in vicious circle of birth and death until it is cleansed of all dross impurities within.
Indulgence in karma is a requirement of atman within and not the manifest human form. The human form is but a medium for atman within to reach its logical cosmic end of life, state of total purity. This happens when indulging in spirituality human beings became a Mahavira, Gautama Buddha Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed.
