As per Bhagavad Gita we are primarily a spiritual being, a cosmic traveler that manifested human form to work out its karma. We failed to realize our true identity as a spirit due to presence of ego. Indulging in teachings of spirituality contained in Bhagavad Gita we can not only realize our true identity but also become a pure soul atman, liberate self from cycle of birth and death forever.
All the 700 shlokas verses contained in Bhagavad Gita talked about spirituality. There is nothing in Bhagavad Gita that relates to religion (path of rituals).
As per Bhagavad Gita allegorically Lord Krishna is the spirit, soul atman existing in all living beings including human beings. To realize our true identity as Lord Krishna, our undertaking spiritual journey towards our inner self is necessitated. This becomes possible when we indulged in contemplation (chintan) to realize hidden underlying meaning of sacred texts.
Mastering delicate art of contemplation (chintan) is the foremost requirement of Bhagavad Gita.
Indulgence in Bhagavad Gita is never for the sake of gaining any knowledge wisdom. The jnana wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita is necessitated to cut darkness of ignorance forever.
From the beginning of life when we were a child we had so many queries within, who I am, what is the goal of my life, why I took birth, where have I to go, my relationship with God, my relationship with world of souls atmans, what is the meaning of dharma, what is karma and so on. The answers were never forthcoming.
Spirituality contained in Bhagavad Gita is all about seeking answers to these underlying queries. The moment every single query dissolves forever one immediately reaches state of enlightenment, becoming a Mahavira, Gautama Buddha Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed.
State of enlightenment means, indulging in spirituality when human beings regained their lost original pure prime pristine primordial form as a soul atman forever! Becoming a pure spirit, consciousness and rejoining God Almighty, Brahman in Hinduism is what spirituality all about.
