The quote Bhagavad Gita in our daily life does not mean anything. Bhagavad Gita is not a normal document or scripture that could be indulged occasionally, part-time.
Bhagavad Gita must be indulged only by travelers of spiritual path, those seeking God in their lifetime. Rest all who feel indulging in Bhagavad Gita occasionally were totally mistaken, ignorant.
The teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita were never meant for daily routines of life nor does Bhagavad Gita relates to management sessions. There was nothing in Bhagavad Gita that could promote mankind towards a healthy lifestyle.
Bhagavad Gita was purely a spiritual treatise, much beyond comprehension of masses. Why indulge, when our goal of life was not spiritual.
For example let us take the case of Bill Gates or Warren Buffett. Suppose they become interested in Bhagavad Gita and its teachings. Along with their daily routines of life running large corporations they also start indulgence in teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita. What would be the ultimate result of this practice?
As ordained by God, after death of present mortal frame, the souls’ atmans of Bill Gates and Warren Buffett would again manifest a new human form and start new journey of life. What use indulging in spirituality in previous manifestation?
Indulgence in spirituality in Bhagavad Gita must be full and wholehearted. Either we want to travel spiritual path and emancipate forever from cycle of birth and death or we do not. We just could not travel two boats simultaneously, one of the manifest physical world and other the spiritual domain.
There was never a taboo for doing so. We can definitely indulge in both the fields, that of materialistic world and spiritual domain simultaneously. But results would be better if we concentrated on one.
Indulgence in spiritual path should be like Swami Vivekananda. In his lifetime Swami Vivekananda could have easily reached state of enlightenment, liberated self from cycle of birth and death forever but he never wanted to. Community service was his goal of life and in that he indulged wholeheartedly full-time.
When Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa admonished Swami Vivekananda why he had come to him if his goal of life was not reaching god, Swami Vivekananda politely replied he only wanted to affirm presence of God. Once that was done, he busied himself in community service leaving emancipation from cycle of birth and death for next manifestation.
Swami Vivekananda was so skilled that he knew in immediate next manifestation he would definitely reach god. A person with such determination is hard to find, a perfect example of a successful spiritual traveler.
Having indulged in spirituality from six years of age, I have traversed, experienced all kinds of spiritual nuances necessary to reach God in one’s lifetime. I have come across many in multitudes seekers, travelers of spiritual path who quit journey towards god midway only to become serious patients of depression. What use quitting the journey halfway?
Before indulgence in spirituality, we must finalize our goal of life. On path of pure spirituality chances of returning back to normal mode of life were nil, non-existent. Whatever our spiritual accomplishments could never be reverted back. Many in this world tried awakening their kundalini shakti but quitting midway. All such quitters finally become patients of serious depression.
Once we decide our goal of life as spiritual, it should be final. Before embarking on spiritual journey we must burn all bridges behind like Swami Vivekananda so that one could not return back to daily routines of life.
Indulgence in spirituality, sacred texts like Bhagavad Gita must be with extreme caution.
When God Almighty has already ordained a long journey of 1.1 million manifestations in human form to reach stage of enlightenment, where was the hurry! If we enjoyed indulging in material pursuits of life, then be it. We can pursue spirituality in next manifestation.
