Kundalini activation should always practiced in isolation never collectively. There was nothing like practicing Kundalini under a spiritual master, guru. There is nothing in field of Kundalini in which a so-called kundalini teacher could assist.
If we try to understand the true meaning and purport of kundalini, it is quite possible that most who indulged in kundalini awakening collectively stops the practice.
Kundalini awakens in stages whenever we indulged in practice of absolute celibacy. The physical aspect of celibacy (abstention from sexual indulgence) constitutes hardly 10% of total job, 90% celibacy is always practiced mentally. Eradicating flow of negative thoughts to our brain in totality is what absolute celibacy all about.

Flow of negative thoughts to our brain can be stopped by overpowering five senses and mind. Whenever we indulged in nishkama karma yoga unmindful of fruits of karma performed, the results propelled us towards higher levels of spirituality. For overpowering five senses negation of karma in stages is necessitated. Lessening our desires and wishes, indulging in karma nishkama karma way of life we can slowly establish total control over five senses.
We also need demolishing our ego in totality. Only then we could practice nishkama karma yoga satisfactorily. Only after killing I within, can we successfully practice nishkama karma yoga. The general attachment towards fruits of karma is phenomenal. Detaching self from fruits of karma is a hard task. Mastery over nishkama karma yoga takes a long time. All these practices combined together propelled one towards state of thoughtlessness.
Longing for kundalini awakening is also a desire that needs demolishing in totality. Instead of desiring kundalini awakening we must concentrate more on practice of absolute celibacy, invoking pure thoughts most of time.
For demolition of ego, and practice of absolute celibacy, invocation of pure thoughts we do not need any company, a guru whatsoever.
